Among all the kids out trick-or-treating last weekend were a little boy dressed as Buzz Lightyear, accompanied by a little girl dressed as a cowgirl. They are our own two personal munchkins, our grandchildren.
Mike Burghhardt’s wife, Patty, sat on the grass Wednesday morning, enjoying the view on a sunny day with a bright blue sky setting the perfect backdrop. She sat on the grass, admiring a labor of love and honor and respect that will be unveiled to the public Saturday afternoon. I’m standing further uphill, admiring the work, too. I have no connection to this cemetery other than living in the county where it’s located, and I don’t really know these people who’ve done the work, but that doesn’t matter. It’s a project that should make everyone feel good about doing right by those who serve Uncle Sam.
How wonderful it will be to see a new $12 million building go up at the corner of Coal Mine Road and U. S. 41 in Fort Branch to house future students of Vincennes University. Ground was broken Friday for a new Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics.
