A special encore presentation of the Mt. Carmel Summer Variety Show, "Journey through Broadway," will be performed to honor a woman whose life was the arts, Mrs. Beverly Carter Keneipp, at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, in the Brubeck Arts Center Theatre.
The show, when originally performed, was written and directed with Beverly in mind, and was the last show she attended. She passed away three weeks later.
The Wabash Valley College Student Advantage Network is sponsoring the event with a portion of the proceeds going to Bev's two favorite local charities, the Mt. Carmel Middle School and the Mt. Carmel High School music departments.
"Journey through Broadway," with music from such shows as Mamma Mia, Wicked, Oklahoma, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, to name just a few, promises to have something for everyone.
The cast of characters includes: Cat in the Hat-Leia DeShon, Nefertiti-Jenna Deisher, Cleopatra-Nicole Easton, Starlet-Amanda Gill, Thing 1 & Thing 2-Josslyn Shaw & Isabella Noll, Annie Oakley-Maddie Sanders, Will Rogers/Ghost of Broadway Past-Dalton Isham, Aunt Eller, from Oklahoma-Jenna Deisher, Andrew Carnes, from Oklahoma-Dylan Claywell, John Travolta/Ghost of Broadway Present-Matt McClelland, From Wicked, Galenda-Cammilyn DeShon.
