Workers from Howell Paving were busy Monday stripping the asphalt from Market Street, from 3rd Street to 5th, as well as the first two blocks of West 3rd, in preparation for new paving.

Trucks from at least four different companies - from Mill Shoals, Kinmundy, Odin and Salem - were hauling the refuse away.

Thursday is the tentative date for the new asphalt to be put down.
