Kay Lynn Kleinschmidt, on right, a special education assistant at North Intermediate Center of Education, helped with the school’s Red Ribbon Week celebration, held just a tad late Wednesday, by handing out eggs to Alexis Addison, on left, and Ashley Kanipe at the Egg Toss Contest, part of the celebration. The entire school celebrated Red Ribbon Week with a series of games and contests. Outdoor events had been postponed because of rain.

Ft. Hood suspect reportedly shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’
FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) - Soldiers who witnessed the shooting rampage at Fort Hood that left 13 people dead reported that the gunman shouted "Allahu Akbar!" - an Arabic phrase for "God is great!" - before opening fire, the base commander said Friday.
